The film stars Ben Schwartz reprising his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside Idris Elba as Knuckles, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and Colleen O' Shaughnessey as Miles "Tails" Prower, with James Marsden and Tika Sumpter in the roles of Tom and Maddie Wachowski, and . The film follows Sonic and Knuckles as they attempt to destroy Robotnik's newest invention, The Death Egg, while Tails, Amy, Tom and Maddie scuffle with Metal Sonic.
